Munster Semi Final on Sunday
This coming Sunday, April 24th, our grade 5 men’s team will play their semi final of the Munster Winter League Phase II.
The Mitchelstown side will have home advantage when they take on Lakewood (white). Our team have made all the running so far in the competition, coming through with no major drama.
Lakewood on the other hand, have certainly earned their crust to reach the semi final. In their final group game, they required a 4-0 win at home and needed Dromahane to suffer a heavy defeat at
home against Garryduff in order to qualify. Indeed, the Ballincollig side got the 4-0 win against Kinsale while Dromahane fell to a 3-1 home defeat. Lakewood qualified from the group by a point. In the round of last 16, Lakewood squeezed past Ballinlough 3-2 after a super doubles winning set. Their quarter final followed the same pattern, a super singles 3-2 win away against Bishopstown. There’s no doubt, Lakewood won’t give up without a fight!  However, our boys are going from strength to strength, going through the competition like a well oiled machine. They have been playing excellent tennis and have the experience to find a way to win their games. It promises to be an interesting fixture, and we wish our team the best of luck on
Sunday.
Munster Winter League Semi Final Fixture:

Every Saturday during school term, there will be match play practice for juniors. These sessions do not replace the coaching on Wednesday’s and the courts will be adult supervised. Numbers are limited, so registration is required at yourcourts.com.  This will continue again this coming Saturday, April 23rd .

Open Week Success at Rushbrooke
Last Monday, Evelyn English and Cillian Dollion won the grade 5 mixed doubles competition in Rushbrooke. This is their second Open title this year. Well done to both of them and we wish them
further success over the coming months.
